Exactly as in the photo, it works with an AAA battery inside. It is switched on by just turing it to the right and off to the left, the only problem being that if you turn it a little too much to the left, which happens a bit too easily, it will open (just what you would do to change the battery). Otherwise, it is simple and effective. A fine article overall.
